Youth Program

Our youth program is geared for kid's 6 years old to 15 years old.  We offer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA (mixed martial arts ) in our kid's program.  We teach a mix of Jiu Jitsu for self defense and tournament Jiu Jitsu.  Competition teams are available.

Jiu Jitsu - Utilizes leverage and superior position control.  This class teaches takedowns, position control, escapes, and submissions through chokes and joint manipulation.  Great for self defense.

MMA- Mixed Martial Arts-  This is a mostly striking class.  Utilizes Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu.  All of our sparring is moderate contact to the body and no strikes to the head.

PeeWee Jiu Jitsu-

Our peewees Jiu Jitsu class is a beginner class for kids 3 years to 6 years old.  We teach the basics of Jiu Jitsu positions and control.  The focus of this class is to teach kids how to train and be coached.

Peewees MMA is primarily the fundamentals of kickboxing with a little wrestling and Jiu Jitsu mixed in.  This is a non-sparring class.

How will Jiu Jitsu help my child?

1. Physical Fitness: Jiu Jitsu is an excellent full-body workout that enhances strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. The dynamic nature of the sport promotes agility, balance, and coordination, contributing to overall physical fitness.
2. Self-Defense Skills: Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that focuses on practical self-defense techniques. Learning these skills can boost your child's confidence and provide them with the knowledge and ability to protect themselves if needed.
3. Discipline and Focus: Jiu Jitsu requires a high level of discipline and concentration. Through regular practice, children learn to follow instructions, pay attention to details, and stay focused on their training, which can translate into improved academic performance and behavior.
4. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Jiu Jitsu involves strategic thinking and problem-solving on the mat. Children learn to anticipate their opponent's moves, adapt to changing situations, and make quick decisions, fostering cognitive development.
5. Respect and Sportsmanship: Jiu Jitsu places a strong emphasis on respect for instructors, training partners, and opponents. Children learn the value of humility, good sportsmanship, and treating others with respect both on and off the mat.
6. Increased Self-Esteem: As children progress in their Jiu Jitsu training, they earn belts and stripes, signifying their achievements. These accomplishments contribute to a sense of accomplishment and increased self-esteem, fostering a positive self-image.
7. Teamwork and Social Skills: Jiu Jitsu classes often involve partner drills and sparring, encouraging teamwork and social interaction. Children learn to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and build lasting friendships within the martial arts community.
8. Stress Relief and Emotional Regulation: Engaging in physical activity, such as Jiu Jitsu, can be an effective outlet for stress and a means of promoting emotional well-being. Children learn to manage their emotions, handle stress, and develop a healthy way to release energy.
9. Goal Setting and Perseverance: Jiu Jitsu provides a structured environment where children set goals for belt promotions and skill development. This helps instill a sense of perseverance, as they work toward achieving and surpassing their objectives.
10. Lifelong Healthy Habits: Participating in Jiu Jitsu can instill a love for physical activity and a healthy lifestyle early on. The habits formed during martial arts training can contribute to a lifetime of fitness and well-being.

Overall, Jiu Jitsu offers a holistic approach to personal development for children, encompassing physical health, mental acuity, and positive social interactions. It can be a valuable and enriching activity that contributes to a well-rounded and confident individual.
